City Street is an awareness programme where young people are educated about the main issues of gang involvement. The main issues that will be delivered over a five week period are the effects of alcohol and drugs, sexual exploitation and sexual health, gun and knife crime and next steps to take to stay away from gang culture involvement.
To deliver this project we work closely with partners who have expertise in these fields. IGMU (Integrated Gang Management Unit), Manchester Healthy Schools and Thorn Cross Prison. After each session the group takes part in a related activity such as self defense, circuit training and poster design.
