Disability Sports
A brand new way of promoting disability sports within Manchester.
Disability Sports
A new Disability Football and Multi Sports programme is being delivered in partnership with the Premier League PFA Community Fund and Manchester City Council. The programme is designed to increase sporting opportunities and promote disability sport in Manchester.
The disability programme has been very successful over the last three years working with 12 special schools throughout all areas of Manchester engaging a total of over 8,000 people. We are now offering pupils the chance to try four new sports in addition to football. Aimed at disabled pupils in special schools the programme will now offer coaching sessions in Football, Rugby, Tennis, Athletics and Netball. The sessions will cover basic techniques and movement skills through twelve one hour sessions in each of the five sports.
CITC is now offering the new programme FREE to every special school in Manchester.
‘The children have loved the sessions and the comments from the staff have been so positive. Two of the teaching assistants, Sarah and Faiqa, came to me earlier to say how much they have enjoyed the sessions and said that you were so innovative in your approach each week. As a school, staff and pupils we really appreciate everything you do for us. Thank you
Matt Campian, Deputy Head Lancasterian School, Didsbury.
