Hailing from Dublin, 6ft 4 Ian Lawlor has already represented his country at youth level for the under-19s in the UEFA Qualifiers last year.

Last season Lawlor was a regular for City EDS in the NextGen Series and also made the no.1 shirt his own when Eirik Johansen went on loan to Scunthorpe United.

Ian used to turn out for the esteemed Home Farm team in Ireland before crossing the Irish Sea in 2010 to join City. Home Farm boasts a glittering CV of Premier League footballers past and present, including former City captain Richard Dunne – huge footsteps the youngster will hope to follow in.

Lawlor enjoyed a spell with the first-team on the 2012/13 pre-season tour of Austria and is expected to contest for the u21 goalkeeper position with Angus Gunn and Eirik Johansen over the coming season.
