City U18s continued their bright start to the league campaign with a 2-1 win over Stoke in their first home game of the season.

An own goal and a Denziel Boadu's strike was enough to ensure victory for Jason Wilcox’s men who have taken seven points from their opening three games.

There was a competitive edge to the game from kick-off with both sides showing their intent early on and with EDS coach Patrick Vieira watching on, there was an extra incentive for the young Blues to impress.

In a lively opening period at Platt Lane, City’s Kean Bryan and Brandon Barker both had early chances while at the other end, Angus Gunn was called into action and did extremely well to save twice from close range efforts.
