City u18s extended their unbeaten league run to three games with a comfortable home win over Arsenal.

Goals from Olivier Ntcham and Jack Byrne were just reward for the Sky Blues’ dominance, and former Gunner Denzeil Boadu came back to haunt his old team with two brilliant assists.

Although nine of the squad travelled to Moscow for the UEFA Youth League clash, there was no Russian hangover as, under the watchful gaze of Patrick Vieira, City outplayed their Arsenal counterparts under grey skies at Platt Lane.

Mindful of the week’s European excursions, Jason Wilcox elected to start Byrne, Angelino and Ashley Smith-Brown on the bench, which meant Kean Bryan, traditionally a central midfielder, filled in at left back.
