City EDS continued a magnificent start to their European campaign with a 6-0 demolition of Bayern Munich in the UEFA Youth League.
The visitors brought a loud contingent of away fans, but it was City making all the noise on the pitch as goals from Jason Denayer, George Glendon, Devante Cole and a Marcos Lopes hat-trick earned the Blues a stylish victory to maintain their 100% record.
City were aiming to build on a magnificent debut when they defeated Viktoria Plzen 4-1, and Patrick Vieira opted for the same team that won so comprehensively last time out. That meant starts for Angus Gunn in goal, Jack Byrne, who caught the eye in the Czech Republic, and captain Lopes.
The bench had a more youthful look and was composed entirely of members of Jason Wilcox’s under-18 squad earning deserved reward for an impressive start to the season.Read full match report
