Joe Hart has paid tribute to legendary City goalkeeper Bert Trautmann calling him an ‘inspiration.’
Speaking while on pre-season tour in South Africa, Joe said the fomer German international has left a lasting legacy.
“I was very sorry to hear the news about Bert Trautmann; he was a true legend of the club and someone I had a lot of admiration for,” he said.
The impact he had on City and on football in general is something to be very proud of.
Trautmann appeared 545 times for the Blues over 15 years - a record the England number one said was remarkable.
“To record over 500 appearances for a club and to overcome all the hurdles that he did throughout his career is amazing,” Hart declared.
“He is certainly an inspiration, not only to me, but to goalkeepers from many clubs across the world.
“He was an incredible man with an incredible story and I am sure his legacy will live on”
