The Manchester City Ladies side have won the FA Tesco Women's Premier League Northern Division.

A hard-fought 1-0 win over Sporting Albion at the Regional Athletics Arena on Sunday secured the championship, and more importantly, promotion to the National Division of the Women's Premier League.

The Blues had to dig deep against physical and well-disciplined opponents, having to wait until Sarah Buffel nodded home in the 85th minute to break down the visitors’ stubborn resistance.
