A solitary goal late in the day was enough to knock the City Ladies team out of this season's League Cup at the hands of Nottingham Forest.
A match played mostly in a packed midfield with few chances for each team was won in the 87th minute with a headed goal from Forest's Susan Davies, who rose above the City defence to nod the ball in off the underside of the crossbar.
Davies, and the attacking full back Gillatt were the pick of the Forest team whilst City captain Savage created City's best chances from a pair of free kicks.
The Blues were denied a penalty just before the winning goal when the referee waved play on despite Becky Grocott having her standing leg taken away from underneath her.
