Matthew Mills has this morning joined Championship new-boys Doncaster Rovers in a £300,000 deal.

The defender penned a three-year deal at the Keepmoat Stadium after more than playing his part in Rovers gaining promotion from League One over two loan spells last season.

Mills came to City from Southampton in January 2006 for £250,000, but only managed 66 minutes in a senior City shirt over two appearances.

For the majority of his disappointing spell with the Blues, the 22-year-old enjoyed better times away on loan, firstly with Colchester United in the Championship for three months during the 2006/07 campaign and last season with Doncaster.
