City travel to Barcelona for a prestigious friendly on August 19th, and we have been provided with some helpful information for Blues fans that will be travelling to the famous Camp Nou Stadium.
Using Barcelona’s Metro system is the best way of reaching the ground, take the Green Line and get off at either Les Cortes or Marie Christine stations. It is approximately 2kms from the city centre to the ground, with yellow-and-black taxis also available for transport.
Gates open at 20:00, two hours before kick off, and City supporters are encouraged to arrive early. Initial access is via checkpoints 18 and 19, where every supporter will be searched. Guns, knives, Air horns, drums, trumpets, megaphones, aerosols, drums and flags with sticks (including plastic sticks) are expressly forbidden. Only small (folding) umbrellas are allowed.
Entry to the stadium is then via gates 46, 50,51 and 52. These turnstiles give stair access to the upper level where City fans will be located in Blocks 521 to 527.
There is a lift available which is restricted to supporters with walking difficulties, any supporter who needs to use the lift should contact a MCFC steward outside the turnstiles for assistance.
Provision has been made for wheelchair access via Gate 62 to an area near Goal Sud (south). Only one carer permitted per disabled supporter.
There will be no match day programme.
No alcohol will be served inside the stadium.
City supporters will be kept back in the ground for at least 20 minutes after the game has finished before being allowed to leave.
