Voting for the February Etihad Player of the Month award is now open – and that means an opportunity for one fan to present the prize to the selected player.
One City supporter will be chosen at random to hand over the prize in person and then take part in a webiste interview at the Carrington training centre.
So who are February’s leading contenders?
A resurgent Vincent Kompany has been part of a solid-looking back four in recent weeks, while Emmanuel Adebayor has added a couple more goals to his tally and led the line well during Carlos Tevez’s absence.
Wayne Bridge has made an impressive return from injury – as has Joleon Lescott – and both England stars have looked in great form in recent weeks.
New signing Adam Johnson has enjoyed a terrific first month in sky blue and must be in with a chance, too, while other possible choices are Shay Given, Gareth Barry and Pablo Zabaleta or even the returning Tevez and Craig Bellamy who each scored twice in the remarkable win at Chelsea.
The field has probably never been so open so to ensure that your favourite doesn’t miss out, now register your choice now – voting closes at noon on Saturday, March 13. Don’t forget, if your vote matches the winning player, it could be you presenting him with the award.
For reference, previous players of the month have been Craig Bellamy (August and September), Martin Petrov (October), Shay Given (November) and Carlos Tevez (December and January).
