As we count down to tonight’s mouth-watering Carling Cup semi final second leg at Old Trafford, there’s a chance for City fans to vote for one of the club’s most famous moments to mark the 50th year of the League Cup.

Dennis Tueart’s overhead kick in the 1976 final against Newcastle has achieved iconic status with Blues fans, who can now vote for it in an online poll at www.leaguecup50.com.

There’s video footage of the goal to remind you, alongside clips from the other great moments to choose from, like Ronnie Whelan’s winner curled in from outside the box against United in the 1983 final, or former City coach Frank Bunn’s six goals for Oldham in 1989.

There’s an added incentive for voting – every entry puts voters into the hat to win one of 50 pairs of tickets for this year’s final (watching City, we hope!) or one of 200 special edition Carling Cup balls.
