After last week’s exciting social media first following our largest ever ‘check-in’ attempt on Foursquare, there was another big win for the club’s online presence this week.
Yesterday we announced that the followers of the official MCFC Twitter feed collectively won the inaugural Twibbon Premier League which involves fans showing their loyalty to their favourite team by adding their club’s logo or Twibbon to their own profile image.
It’s been great to see so many of our online fans proudly displaying our Twibbon throughout the season, fending off tough competition from Arsenal’s supporters along the way. Almost 1,700 City fans added our Twibbon according to the final league table and many more have since.
Also on Twitter; using the hashtag #mcfcomp, we asked fans to come up with a caption for this photograph of Nigel De Jong and Carlos Tevez and as we’re nearing the World Cup, we thought @sarayzc gave us the best...
Carlos: ‘So, who do you think is best? Pele or Maradona?’
Over on Flickr we’ve been even more spoilt for choice following ‘Adammck’ submitting 60 fantastic MCFC photos to our group including the one at the top of this page. These were taken during Adam’s recent trip over from Australia to catch the Blues in action.
Those who ‘like’ the MCFC fan page on Facebook were treated to some more exclusive behind the scenes videos this week including this interesting and insightful look into the life of a kit man with our very own Les Chapman, filmed after receiving his Outstanding Achievement award at last week’s MCFC Awards evening.
