We are delighted to announce the Club’s official iPhone app is now available to download from the App Store.
The app is designed for iPhones and iTouch and gives fans access to all the award-winning content including videos, statistics and much more. It is already receiving rave reviews.
Supporters are now be able to post their favourite articles direct to Facebook or Twitter, check-out the upcoming fixtures and club events, swot up on their knowledge in the players' section and if they can’t be at the stadium on a match day, City Live brings them exclusive text commentary and statistics from the game.
This is an app for the fans by the fans.
The club wanted its supporters to be involved in the process. At every step of the process they were asked to give their feedback as the app was developed through the official app blog – www.mcfc.co.uk/apps, where staff who worked on the app from both MCFC and Aqueduct posted the latest screenshots and ideas and asked for feedback.
Commenting on the release of the new app, Ian Cafferky, Chief Brand & Commercial Officer for City said:
“When designing the new app we knew it not only needed to look slick and be extremely useful, but most importantly fun to use, be it down the pub with friends or in the stands with your family.
“The new app is only the beginning and get better with time, that’s why we created a blog for fans to leave their feedback and ideas.”
Paul Doleman, from the Bert Trautmann’s Neck Blog, said:
Loved the quality of the video, the carousel menu, and the nice large, clear iconography. I'll certainly pay a few pounds for it.
The app is priced £2.99 until the end of season.
Aware of the issues around connectivity on match days, Manchester City is also working to boost coverage around City of Manchester Stadium.
