City's groundbreaking work with the American soccer community sees the club nominated for a prestigious award this week.

In partnership with the UAE Embassy, City are in the final three for the category for Philanthropy at the UKTI Business Innovation Awards, which will be held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills this Wednesday.

The nod comes for the club's backing for a new pitch for the East LA Boys and Girls soccer club, which was first announced on the 2011 pre-season tour before its completion later in the year.

City have proudly backed similar projects in New York and Miami, and we wish Gary Hopkins and his team the best of luck for this week's awards.
