The Barclays Premier League champions warmed up for the mouth-watering UEFA Champions League game against Real Madrid by claiming top spot in England at the weekend.

The 5-0 win over Aston Villa saw the Blues reach the summit in their title defence with David Silva opening the scoring before Sergio Aguero and Carlos Tevez both scored twice.

Both Argentinian strikers were on the mark from the penalty spot and Paddy Power offer 7/5 that a penalty will be awarded in Wednesday night’s encounter with City available at 11/2 to score from the spot.

The Blues and Real Madrid met at the Bernabeu in September, when two goals in the last three minutes denied City the points. It’s 20/1 that the Citizens reverse that 3-2 scoreline at the Etihad.

Edin Dzeko opened the scoring in the first game and the Bosnian striker is 8/1 to score the opening goal of the game or 11/5 to score at anytime given his impressive six league goals in 10 games for City this season.

Aleksandar Kolarov hit the net in Madrid and the Serbian defender is 7/1 to score at anytime in the game with Paddy Power.

City are 375/1 to repeat Saturday’s 5-0 scoreline against Real Madrid or 6/1 to win to nil in Paddy Power’s football market while Silva is 11/1 to follow up his first Premier League goal of the season and get the game’s opener.

Aguero and Tevez are both 17/10 to score at anytime against the Spanish champions. Roberto Mancini’s side are 5/2 to win the game over 90 minutes, 5/4 in the draw no bet market and 4/1 to win in the half-time, full-time betting with the online firm.

If Ronaldo scores the last goal, Paddy Power will refund all losing first/last goal-scorer, correct score and scorecast singles on the match.
