City are hoping to get their first Uefa Champions League points of the season on the board when Borussia Dortmund visit the Etihad Stadium.
The German champions have a young squad which contains several of their country’s rising stars but despite their youth they have garnered a lot of experience winning back-to-back league titles.
Their star striker, Robert Lewandowksi, hasn’t been at his most prolific so far this season but he did score the winner against Ajax and is a player City defenders will need to keep a close eye on.
Roberto Mancini has plenty of scoring options with Edin Dzeko and Carlos Tevez and Sergio Aguero also in good goal scoring form.
Aguero is the favourite with betting partner Paddy Power to score first at the Etihad Stadium at 9/2, with Tevez the second favourite at 11/2. If Edin Dzeko doesn’t start then there’s value in backing him to come off the bench and score the last goal at 13/2.
Being at home will hopefully be a big advantage for English champions and they are 5/6 to win.
Dortmund scored 80 goals in 34 Bundesliga games last season and have notched 16 in six games already this season. With such a fearless and prolific squad they are expected to come to Manchester to attack.
However, last season in the Champions League Dortmund finished bottom of their group with just four points, losing all three of their away games. If their travel troubles continue in this campaign then punters may wish to back City to give them a goal start – the Blues -1 is priced 23/10 in the handicap market.
