City are outsiders in the betting for tonight’s visit to the Bernabeu.
But all that adds up is some tasty odds on offer from official betting partner Paddy Power.
The news that last season’s leading marksman Sergio Aguero is back in training after being injured in the opening game of the season against Southampton, has seen him introduced into the lists as 7/1 to open the scoring against Madrid tonight.
Roberto Mancini was satisfied with the 1-1 Barclays Premier League draw against Stoke on Saturday as City extended their unbeaten run to the season and gained a hard-fought point at the Britannia.
Javi Garcia scored on his debut and the Spaniard is 25/1 to score first against his former team. Carlos Tevez has three goals in four games and is 8/1 to open the scoring with Edin Dzeko, who almost won the game against Stoke, at 9/1.
Yaya Toure has lifted the Champions League trophy already for Barcelona in 2009 before he moved to City the following year. The Ivorian scored three goals in Europe for City last season and is 12/1 to score first and 7/2 to find the net at any time in the game this evening.
The last time City played a European game in Spain was in November last year when they beat Villarreal 3-0 in the Champions League group stages.
They are 9/2 to beat Madrid with the Spanish team available at 4/6 in the Paddy Power’s match betting.
The odds that the first group game ends in a draw are 13/5 with the 1-1 result the shortest correct score selection at 13/2.
If the match does end in a draw Paddy Power will be refunding all losing first goalscorer, last goalscorer, correct score and scorecast bets on the contest.
