Over the past four years City’s official club photographer Sharon Latham, has had unparalleled access to the Manchester City players - and the results form part of a new exhibition.
There are 25 new images displayed at the exhibition space, highlighting the diverse nature of her photography work in the club.
“Working at City allows me to use so many different styles and skill sets of photography,” said Latham. “Many people imagine that most of my work is sports action photography when actually that’s about two thirds of what I do.
“This exhibition showcases a vast range and style of photography, from studio shoots to candid documentary style imagery.”
Pablo Zabaleta attended the launch in the Northern Quarter and the exhibition, which will last a week, is now open the general public.
“This is my second chance of an exhibition with Manchester City and I hope that the collection of images gives the fans an insight into how our players work and play,” added Latham.
“I’ve included some previously unseen shots from our title win last May, capturing the emotion of that incredible moment. Additionally this year each picture is signed by the players that feature in the picture.
Working in football also means you have to act very quickly and work around players and their training schedules and their busy hectic lives that are constantly changing
“Flexibility and the ability to adapt are some of the key requirements of this job. Sports photography in general is a very male dominated profession and being one of a limited number of females in the industry gives me an enormous amount of pride.”
Fans will be able to purchase the framed limited edition shots on the day, at a price of £295 each. Every penny made from the sale or the framed photographs will go back into City in the Community to help raise funds to support the charities we currently support.
Sharon’s ‘Snapshot Exhibition’ will be hosted at 7 Dale House, Lever Street, Manchester. The exhibition will run from Wednesday 24th to Saturday 27th of April.
Free entry between 4pm and 8pm.
