With the 15-goal US Tour fresh in the memory, as well as a host of friendly internationals still taking place, it might not feel like the football season is truly over.

However, those left rudderless without their weekly fix of Premier League action may want to mark their calendars for 19 June when the 2013/14 league fixtures will be announced.

TV picks will take place approximately two to three weeks later, at which point the first months of the season will be set.

We’ll have that first draft of the fixtures here on the website as soon as we receive them from the Premier League ahead of the opening weekend which gets under way on 17 August.

One of the major intrigues in the season to come will be whether City can qualify from a UEFA Champions League group stage for the first time.

City have fallen at the first hurdle on both of their quests in Europe’s premier club competition to date, meaning all eyes will be on the Champions League draw on 29 August.

It remains to be seen which pot the Blues will be drawn from but the new manager will be hoping to avoid a repeat of last season when City found themselves in a group of champions, featuring eventual semi-finalists Real Madrid and their conquerors Borussia Dortmund.

Matchday 1 will take place on 17-18 September, with the final round of group stage games occurring on 10-11 December.

The final will be hosted at the Estadio da Luz in Lisbon, the home of Benfica on 24 May 2014.

As for the FA Cup, City will be looking to put last season’s crushing final disappointment behind them when they enter at the third round stage.

The FA Cup third round draw is always one of the eagerly awaited moments of the campaign and it will take place on the first weekend of December for matches which traditionally occur in the first week of January.

Finally, Swansea City were the surprise winners of the Capital One Cup in 2013 after overcoming Bradford City in the final at Wembley last season.

City were unfortunately no way near that occasion after bowing out at the very first stage against Aston Villa but they will be hoping for better this time around when they re-enter in the third round on the week commencing 23 September.
