Manchester City Football Club has scooped a prestigious award for its hospitality at the 2013 Football Business Awards.

The club fought off competition from four Premiership rivals, including Chelsea and Manchester United, to win the coveted Best Football Club Hospitality award at a glittering ceremony at Stamford Bridge on November 7th 2013.

Manchester City has invested heavily in the facilities at the Etihad Stadium to ensure that it offers guests innovative, added value experiences that can suit all budgets.

The judging panel, made up of senior influential figures from the world of football, commented that Manchester City’s hospitality ‘Occupancy figures and the sheer number of improvements were mightily impressive.’  There was also praise for the ‘highly innovative’ spaces and ‘strong partnerships that are in place to enhance the match experience to a wider demographic.’

These included the club’s new catering partnership with Jamie Oliver and Legends Hospitality, Fabulous Fan Fayre, which provides catering for all hospitality and public concession areas within the Stadium, including the Club’s recently renovated Citizens suite. The overhaul of Citizens follows the recent launches of a number of game-changing new hospitality areas, including the EA SPORTS Platinum Gaming Box, the Harvey Nichols Experience Box, The Chairman’s Club and The Mancunian.

Another space that has proved hugely popular is Eleven.  Eleven is a unique marketing suite that showcases the club’s hospitality, and on matchdays offers an intimate number of guests a unique, behind the scenes experience of watching the players and management team arrive and depart, directly from a floor-to-ceiling glass viewing gallery.

Danny Wilson, Director of Sales, Service and Operations at Manchester City Football Club, said: “We are delighted to have won the award for the Best Football Club Hospitality.  The club has grown from strength to strength and we’ve strived to ensure that our entire hospitality offering delivers consistently high standards and value for money for guests.  We receive lots of great feedback about our dynamic hospitality spaces from guests each week, but it’s great to have our hard work recognised at a national awards ceremony.”

The award follows the club’s Stadium Tour winning the Best Small Visitor Attraction at the Manchester Tourism Awards.
