The Etihad Stadium has been a fortress for Manuel Pellegrini’s men this season, and Manchester City will be hoping to continue that trend when Tottenham are the visitors on Sunday afternoon.
Since the start of the season, City have won seven of their eight home games, scoring 31 goals along the way and conceding just seven. They are the 8/13 favourites to pick up another three points at home with Paddy Power and 15/8 to win without conceding a goal.
Tottenham have had some mixed results of late, but City will be aware of Spurs’ solid record on the road.
This year Andre Villas-Boas’ side have won seven of their nine games on their travels and are 9/2 to come away from the Etihad with a win while it’s 14/5 with Paddy Power that the match ends all-square.
Spurs have the best defensive record away from home in the league and have kept eight clean sheets in nine away games. They are 9/2 with Paddy Power to keep yet another clean sheet.
Games between these two sides tend to be tight affairs, however they haven’t played out a draw at the Etihad Stadium in the league since September 2003. That game ended 0-0 and that same scoreline is a 10/1 shot with Paddy Power this weekend.
Since then, there have been nine league clashes between these sides in Manchester and eight of them have been decided by a single goal. It is 12/5 that City win by exactly one goal or 6/1 with Paddy Power if you fancy Tottenham to edge the game by a goal.
In City’s eight games at home this season Sergio Aguero has scored seven as has summer signing Alvaro Negredo who notched a hat-trick in the last home game against CSKA Moscow.
Aguero is the favourite to open the scoring and is a 4/1 shot with Paddy Power. He is evens to find the onion bag at any time in the game.
Spanish striker Negredo is a 5/1 shot to break the deadlock and 7/5 to get his name on the scoresheet in his fifth successive home match.
