The Bert Trautmann Memorial Game

On Sunday 17 November, St Helens Town at Hope Street, Prescot will host a very special game in memory of a City legend.

Bert Trautmann’s passing at 89 on 19 July 2013 shook the world of football, so this is your chance to reflect on your memories of one of the most incredible characters that the sport has ever produced.

St Helens Town FC take on a team of former City players in a game which is being played to raise money for The Trautmann Foundation, Heart and Goals and the Saints Community Foundation.

Of course there is a special significance to the fixture, given that it marks a meeting between the two teams Bert represented in the English game between 1948 and 1964.

A host of former City favourites have been invited to take part in the game, as well as members of Bert’s family who will be in attendance.

Entrance on the gate on Sunday 17 November is £5 for adults and £2 for concessions, with kick-off taking place at 2pm.

For more information and sponsorship details, contact Darryl on 07908833554.

Location: Prescot Cables FC, Eaton Street, Prescot, Merseyside, L34 6HD.
