The best odds from Paddy Power ahead of City's FA Cup clash with Rovers...
Saturday’s win over Newcastle United at St James’ Park stretched City’s unbeaten run to 15 games in all competitions, of which they have won 13.
Blackburn Rovers held the Blues to a rare draw at Ewood Park in the first bite at the this FA Cup third round tie.
At home Manuel Pellegrini’s side have won 12 from 12 domestically this season while Blackburn Rovers have won just one of their last six away games in the Championship – with that in mind there’s little surprise in see the Premier League side as heavy favourites at 1/8.
Rovers will come to the Etihad Stadium for this FA Cup third round replay in good spirits - their 1-1 draw against City being sandwiched between a pair of league victories.
However they have a daunting task on their hands against a team which has scored 59 goals in 15 games at the Etihad Stadium this season - especially having seen what happened to West Ham in their 6-0 Capital One Cup last week!
Following on from the West Ham result there is a lot of money on a similar outcome.
Manchester City -2 goals at 5/6 is seeing a lot of action but there has been plenty of money on City -3 goals at 15/8 and even City -4 goals at 4/1. There has also been a noticeable increase on money behind a repeat of the 6-0 score-line, which is priced at 20/1. Of you fancy 5-0 at 12/1 or 4-0 at 8/1, these are also proving very popular choices.
Having been held to a draw in the first game, it would be no surprise to see City pushing hard to score early. A goal up to an including the 19th minute can be backed at 5/6.
Up front for City the majority of the money is being placed on Alvaro Negredo, who has five goals in his last three games. The Spanish striker scored a hat-trick in the Capital One Cup against West Ham last week and is priced at 11/2 to repeat the trick in this game. He’s the 13/5 favourite to score first and has five goals in four domestic cup games this season.
