Manchester City have won their last eight Barclays Premier League games against Newcastle United and are 4/6 to take all three points against the Magpies on Sunday (2.05pm).
The Citizens won this tie 4-0 at the Etihad on the opening day of the season and are 25/1 with Paddy Power to repeat that scoreline against Alan Pardew’s side who have won of their last five league games at St James’ Park.
Manuel Pellegrini’s side have been scoring for fun all season and thumped West Ham 6-0 mid-week to stand on the verge of a second Wembley final appearance in consecutive seasons.
“In football it’s never finished,” the manager said. “But it’s an important step to playing in the final at Wembley.”
Spanish striker Alvaro Negredo led the charge with a hat-trick against the Hammers and is 11/1 to put three past Newcastle keeper Tim Krul at the weekend.
City took their tally to 92 goals in all competitions as Edin Dzeko (2) and Yaya Toure (1) added to Negredo’s three and the Spaniard will look to build on this as he chases his ninth Premier goal of the season.
And if Negredo scores the last goal of the game against Newcastle Paddy Power will refund all losing first, last correct score and scorecast singles on this match.
The Citizens are unbeaten in their last four away games in the league (winning three) with Yaya Toure hitting the net four times in three of them to become joint leading scorer on the road (5) with Sergio Aguero.
Toure got the last goal of the game in this fixture last season as City ran out 3-1 winners and also scored twice in the 2-0 league win at Newcastle the season before.
The Ivorian is 15/8 to score anytime against Newcastle or 9/2 to score first for his team as City look for their fifth away win of the season and their 20th league goal on the road.
City to win and Toure to score at anytime is an 11/4 chance in Paddy Power’s Wincast betting while Negredo to score first and the blue half of Manchester to win 3-1 is 35/1 in the online firm’s Scorecast betting.
The Citizen’s last six wins against Newcastle have been by a minimum of two goals and the Premier League’s most attacking side (57 goals in 20 games) can be backed at 13/8 (-1 on the handicap) or 7/2 to win by exactly two goals.
