Rafa Benitez’ appointment as Chelsea manager has added spice to what was already a mouth-watering fixture.
The Blues won both of those contests 2-1 and are 7/2 to win by exactly one goal at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
The Barclays Premier League champions have had to come from a goal down six times this season already and have managed to win on four of those occasions against Spurs, Southampton, West Brom and Fulham. A point was rescued against Liverpool and Stoke.
Paddy Power make the champions 10/1 to come from a goal down and win against the Blues.
Both fixtures ended 2-1 to the home sides last season with penalties been awarded at the Etihad and Stamford Bridge. It is 13/8 that a spot-kick is awarded 5/2 that a penalty will be scored in this game.
Edin Dzeko proved the match winner against Fulham and West Brom. Five of his six league goals to date came when he was sprung from the bench with three of them proving match winners.
Both were late strikes - the 87th and 90th minutes – and the Bosnian is 2/1 to score at anytime over the 90 minutes or 5/1 to score in Paddy Power’s Insurebet market.
Carlos Tevez has scored in three of City’s last five encounters with Chelsea and is 9/5 to score at anytime in Sunday’s live clash.
The Stamford Bridge side have only taken two points from their last possible 12 in the league with two draws and two defeats in their last four games – picking up just one point from a possible six in their last two home games.
The Citizens ran out 3-2 winners when the side’s met in the Community Shield in August at Villa Park.
The Ivorian is 11/1 to open the scoring on Sunday while Tevez and Samir Nasri who also scored that day are 13/2 and 11/1 to get City off to a flier in Paddy Power’s online betting.
