MCFC.co.uk has caught up with two promising City players as they hone their skills in Norway.
Mohammed Abu & Omar Elabdellaoui are gaining invaluable experience with Stromsgodset, still top of the Norwegian Premier League after drawing with Tromso in a first vs second clash at the Marienlyst Stadion in Drammen on Sunday night.
Abu hails from Ghana and played a couple of pre-season friendlies for the Elite Development Squad before being loaned to Stromsgodset last summer, helping them to win the Norwegian Cup. The 19-year-old impressed manager Ronnie Deila and their sporting director, former Sheffield United and Norway international Jostein Flo enough to be asked back for the current season.
He was recently joined by City Academy graduate Elabdellaoui (pictured), already part of Norway’s Under 21 set-up, and the pair both featured in the holding midfield role in Sunday’s home draw, with Abu being replaced by Elabdellaoui just after the hour.
Keep your eyes peeled on this website as we catch up with Mohammed & Omar over the coming weeks.
