City EDS defender Ellis Plummer has joined Oldham Athletic for five weeks in a youth loan deal.
Ellis has been a regular member of Patrick Vieira’s under-21 squad so far this season after he was recognised with a nomination for City’s Academy Player of the Year for his rock-solid performances last season.
The 19-year old can either play at full-back or centre-back and joins an Oldham side currently lying in 14th place in the League One table.
Lee Johnson’s men take on high-flying Bradford City in their next match on Sunday afternoon and face Mansfield at home in the second round of the FA Cup the following Saturday.
They will be looking to keep up their impressive six-game unbeaten run which has featured consecutive victories in their last four matches.
Plummer’s signing follows news that Oldham will be missing Latvian defender Edijs Joksts for at least two months due to a stress fracture of his back.
Ellis will wear the no.26 shirt and will return to City on 4 January 2014.
In other loan news, Harry Bunn has gone on Football League Emergency loan to Huddersfield Town FC.
The striker had just returned from a youth loan with Sheffield United.
Bunn is due to return to City again on 6 January 2014.
