One of the leading lights in women's football was in town this weekend...

There are few, if any, more famous faces in the game than US international goalkeeper Hope Solo, who paid a special visit to the Etihad Stadium to watch City's 5-0 win over Fulham.

It was a busy day for the Seattle Reign stopper, who appeared in front of fans at the BT City Square, met up with members of MCWFC and attended the all-schools under-13 football tournament at the Football and Tennis Centre by the stadium.

The two-time Olympic gold medalist took to Twitter after the match to share her thoughts on the victory and to reflect on an enjoyable trip to the home of the Blues.

Coming up on CityTV in the next few days, we've got an exclusive in-depth interview with Hope where she will be talking about the women's game and an #ask Q and A in which the 148-cap keeper will be answering your questions.

For now, here's the story of Hope's day at the Etihad, in pictures...
