Looking back through the history books for the events, signings and memorable matches that happened on this day in City’s history.
Tuesday 11 August 1998
Goals from Tskhadadze and Danny Allsopp give City a 2-0 Worthington Cup first round, first leg lead over Notts County at Meadow Lane.
Just 5,795 bother to watch a competition that seemed to hold little interest to the Magpies fans.
Saturday 11 August 2007
Sven-Goran Eriksson’s reign as City boss gets off to a fantastic start with a 2-0 win at West Ham United.
The Blues, with seven new signings making their debut, go ahead through Rolando Bianchi’s 19th minute goal and Brazilian forward Geovanni seals the points in the 87th minute to put City second in the first Premier League table to be published of the 2007/08 season.
Though there were plenty of highs, there were several lows too and despite Sven’s popularity, he would last just one season in the hot-seat.
