Saturday 15th January 1983
Struggling City record their biggest win of the season with a 4-1 win over manager John Bond’s former club Norwich at Maine Road.
Two goals from David Cross, and strikes from Asa Hartford and Kevin Bond, see off the Canaries for only a second victory in 11 league games.
A fortnight later, following a 4-0 FA Cup defeat at Brighton, the flamboyant City boss quit his job.

When Carlos Tevez picked up the ball 25 yards from goal, few could have predicted what was about to happen.
Captain Fantastic made a beeline for the net as he glided past the challenges of three players before keeping calm against the keeper to coolly finish and give City a 2-1 lead over Wolverhampton Wanderers in Manchester.
The fans celebrated having just witnessed one of the goals of the season and the fact both Kolo Toure and Yaya Toure also scored in the 4-3 win meant those gathered had also witnessed the first time brothers had scored for City in a competitive match.
