Looking back through the history books for the events, signings and memorable matches that happened on this day in City’s history.
Saturday 22nd January 1977
Brian Kidd bags four goals in City’s 5-0 win over Leicester City at Maine Road.
It was his biggest haul in a sky blue jersey and, not surprisingly, he went on to finish the club’s top scorer that season.
It’s also City’s 14th game without defeat in all competitions and takes Kidd’s scoring run to 11 goals in eight games and further underlines the Blues’ championship credentials.
Liverpool were three points clear of third-place City, but had played three more games.
