Sunday 24th July 2011
City beat LA Galaxy 7-6 on penalties after drawing 1-1 in normal time in the final match of the 2011 North American tour with Joe Hart hitting the winning spot-kick. The game was, however, best remembered for Mario Balotelli’s outrageous attempt to showboat the ball into the net when facing the Galaxy keeper.
Saturday 24th July 2010
Two goals from Yannick Djaló saw City slump to a 2-0 defeat to Sporting Lisbon in the Barclays New York Challenge at the Red Bull Arena. The Blues field several players without first-team experience and Roberto Mancini was pleased with the performances of Academy players like Ben Mee and Scott Kay.
