David Seaman signs on a one-year deal after joining City from Arsenal on a free transfer, but lasts only six months before retiring through injury. Seaman replaces another goalkeeping legend, Peter Schmeichel and is steady enough, if nowhere near as sharp as he once was.

Wednesday 4th June 2008

Mark Hughes appointed as City manager after leaving his post with Blackburn Rovers. The former Wales boss brings the majority of his Ewood Park backroom staff with him and CEO Garry Cook says: "I am delighted to welcome Mark on board. In our view he is the brightest young manager in the game and he was our number one target for the manager's job."
