Looking back through the history books for the events, signings and memorable matches that happened on this day in City’s history...
Saturday 7 November 1987
City thrash Malcolm MacDonald’s Huddersfield Town 10-1 at Maine Road after a stunning display.
Neil McNab opens the scoring with a low drive from the edge of the box after the Terriers had dominated the opening 20 minutes, missing several fine chances.
The Sky Blues, thereafter, are rampant and go in at the break 4-0 up. City continue to dismantle the visitors' defence after the break, adding another five goals to lead 9-0 before former defender Andy May pulled one back from the spot in the 88th-minute.
There was still time for David White to race clean through and faced with a one-on-one situation, he drilled the ball home to complete his hat-trick with almost the last kick of the game to send the City fans wild.
Tony Adcock and Paul Stewart also score three times on an unforgettable day in Moss Side.
