Looking back through the history books for the events, signings and memorable matches that happened on this day in City’s history...
Saturday 24 October 2004
City play their part in a thrilling game at St James’ Park against Newcastle. The hosts establish a 2-0 lead with a couple of quick goals from Laurent Robert and Alan Shearer after the break, but the Blues storm back with two goals in three minutes from Shaun Wright-Phillips and Robbie Fowler.
Robbie Elliot restores the Magpies’ lead before Wright-Phillips makes it 3-3 on 77 minutes. Future City player Craig Bellamy has the last word, though, scoring a last-minute winner to make it 4-3.
