From Sunday, a new feature, 'On This Day', begins...

We will be trawling back through the history books to find the events, signings or memorable matches that happened each day in City’s history.

From managerial comings and goings to transfer activity, great matches and unforgettable moments in the Club's life.

The 1 July installment begins with a manager who suffered 9-1 and 4-1 defeats in his first two games - find out the reasons why.

There will also be an entry on a player City signed from United who was expected to be the new Rodney Marsh - discover what happened to him and how he went from the Blues to Rochdale in a short space of time.

On Monday, we'll look back at one of the most important transfers in City's history and recall the events that surrounded the player's arrival.
