As City look to overcome a 1-0 first leg defeat to FC Midtjylland this afternoon, Tal Ben-Haim has told us that the Blues were and today are fully prepared to take on the Danish side.
Despite going behind to an early goal, City could, and should have come-from-behind to win the first leg and that is what they will have to do later today. Tal said of the first encounter two weeks ago: “We didn’t underestimate them.
“We are only at half time and we must be patient and play to our strengths.
“We built well for the game and we knew how they would play, but sometimes in life when you desperately want something to happen it doesn’t, and it’s the same in football.
“We were trying hard but nothing would seem to go right for us. That is part of the game but now we must fix it.”
But after a thumping 3-0 home win at the weekend, Ben-Haim is sure that boost will help going in to this afternoon’s game.
“There is a new confidence in the camp that only winning games can bring and we aim to take that and the valuable momentum gained against West Ham into this contest," added the Israeli defender.
“I thought we played really well and I am sure the supporters could see the desire and the passion amongst the players.
“We wanted to win badly and the organisation was good and it will hopefully be the same today. I see no reason why it should not be the case.
“It is a big game for us for sure, but the situation is clear, a draw is not enough and we have to win.”
For those unable to be in Denmark for the game this afternoon - full, live commentary is available on MCFCTV.com of the 3.25pm (UK time) kick-off.
