Bold approach suits Micah

Micah Richards says that City deserved their win over AC Omonia after battling back from a goal down on Thursday night.

Lady Luck seemed to be against the Blues when they went a goal down just after the break, having struck the woodwork and missed several great chances in the first half.

However Jo’s second-half brace saw a positive performance get the result it deserved, and Micah says:

“I think the way we won says a lot about our game, we should have had it finished off in the first half because we created a lot of chances but did not put them away.

“We deserve a lot of credit, when they scored our heads could have gone down but we hit back and got the two goals that we wanted.”

The hosts’ goal came as a shock after all City’s chances in the first half, so did Micah think we deserved that touch of luck on this occasion?

“Sometimes you do,” he replies, “but we had a lot of possession and needed to do something with it, which we did in the end. We should not let them back in at home, but you can never write off any team. They fought well but in the end our quality shone through. If we approach the second leg like we did the one in Cyprus then we should not have any problems.”

Micah also agrees that with the recent signings of the likes of Robinho, Vincent Kompany and Pablo Zabaleta, and a creditable performance against Chelsea times are good for the Blues

“There was a feel-good factor even after Chelsea, I thought we were a bit unlucky on Saturday after going a goal up, so it was important that pick ourselves up in a game as important as the one in Cyprus.”
