Adam Johnson has been voted Etihad’s March player of the month by Blues fans.

The young winger, who only joined the club in the January transfer window, scored a spectacular equaliser to earn a point at Sunderland.

He impressed too with his general play, so much so that he garnered 34% of the vote and just nosed out the red-hot favourite Carlos Tevez in the poll. Skipper Kolo Toure finished third.

Johnson will receive his prize from a fan later this month.

The April award voting will open on Sunday, April 25th and the period for voting will be shorter than usual , closing on April 28^th.
