Nominees for the December award are:

1) Sergio Aguero - continues to be in the right place at the right time to score vital goals whilst using his positional play to make space for others

2) Gareth Barry - a players' player through and through whose ball retention, passing and general contribution has been of the highest standard

3)  Joe Hart - the England goalkeeper has been in great form producing three clean sheets in succession and was particularly impressive against Arsenal

4) Vincent Kompany - top quality leadership in tight games and performances to match particularly against Arsenal and WBA

5) Yaya Toure - Picked up African Player of Year award in December and no wonder all-action displays and great passing have been a feature for Blues this month
