Sergio Aguero looks set to hand a boost for club and country after announcing he is fit and raring to go again.

The City striker missed Argentina’s match on Friday with what was feared to be a groin strain, but it appears to not have been the case.

"I'm fully recovered and on my way to Colombia,” he said. “I’m eager to give the best on the pitch for the team. The results of the scan were good and it looks like it was just muscle fatigue, though I didn’t want to chance it against Bolivia.”

Argentina take on the Colombians in a World Cup qualifier on Tuesday, where Pablo Zabaleta should play and continue his run in the team, though the Argentinians can’t afford another slip-up after drawing 1-1 with bottom-placed Bolivia last Friday.

Meanwhile, City’s Gareth Barry and Joleon Lescott are looking forward to building on England’s morale-boosting victory over Spain when they take on Sweden on Tuesday.

Barry, fresh from captaining his country on the occasion of his 50th cap, believes the win over the Spanish proves England are not far off being able to challenge the best in the world.

And with Euro 2012 on the horizon, another win over the Swedes will finish the international fixtures for 2011 perfectly.

"It was a fantastic feeling to beat Spain,” he said.

As expected, they dominated possession and created a few chances but to beat the double champions is a great feeling

Lescott enjoyed playing alongside old Everton team-mate Phil Jagielka, though the Toffees’ defender has been ruled out of the Sweden game through injury.

After impressing against La Roja, Lescott is hoping to get the nod alongside John Terry for the Wembley friendly.

"I'd like to think I’ve given the manager something to think about, but you never know,” he said. “Hopefully both myself and Jags have given the manager a headache.”

Elsewhere, Edin Dzeko and Stefan Savic will be hoping they can help their respective countries to Euro 2012 qualification in the second legs of their play-off matches on Tuesday.

Dzeko’s Bosnia travel to Portugal, knowing a 1-1 draw would see them through on the away goals rule, while Savic’s Montenegro need to turn around a 2-0 deficit against the Czech Republic.

Gael Clichy will come up against team-mate and City skipper Vincent Kompany as France take on Belgium and Nigel de Jong should be patrolling Holland’s midfield as the Dutch travel to Hamburg to face Germany.

Mario Balotelli will look to stake a claim for a regular staring berth as Italy take on Uruguay and David Silva will hope to have some playing time for Spain for their friendly with Costa Rica.

We’ll have a full round-up service of all the City players’ fortunes while on international duty as soon as the matches finish on Tuesday evening.
