We will never give up say Blues' stars

City are a million miles from giving up on the dream of winning the Premier League and will push United to the limit on the season’s run-in.

Vincent Kompany, Sergio Aguero, Adam Johnson and Edin Dzeko have all urged Blues’ fans to keep believing ahead of what could be a pivotal weekend in the title race.

With seven games to go, anyone mentally tying red ribbons around the Premier League trophy should think again - that’s the collective message from the City squad ahead of the trip to Arsenal.

Leading the way, as ever, skipper Kompany said: “The reality is that it's not in our hands anymore. For us to get back in the race for the title we'll need other teams to take points off United and then we'll have to finish the job when we play them at the Etihad Stadium.

“We' will keep believing; it's just not as easy as it would have been before. But I would like to stress the fact it shows we have made a lot of progress, as proved by the fact we're playing to win the league.

I look to the future and it's not going to be long before we win the title, I can guarantee that

England winger Johnson added: “There’s been a lot of talk about the title race and who will come out on top, but there are still seven games to be played.

“It’s true we are relying on other teams to some extent, but they have still got to come to our place and have some tricky games left. We’ll be focused and ready for Arsenal and we’ll keep trying to win games and see where that takes us.”

Edin Dzeko is no mood to hand the title race over to the Reds, either. The Bosnian striker is convinced there are still one or two surprises in store.

"There are seven games to play and just as we dropped points recently, so United could drop points against QPR or some other team and if they do, everything changes again,” he said.

"Maybe we thought the match with Sunderland was going to be easier than it was. We had won all our home games so perhaps we thought we could count on all three points - but it's not like that, and you have to fight for every point.

"We need to go from game to game and try to win every match – that’s all we can do. The next game is Arsenal. We will play to win and then we will see.

“They are fighting for a Champions League place and are a top team, so it won't be easy. It should be a good, open game which will suit us.”

Sergio Aguero is still fighting to be fit for the weekend, but he continues to believe this can be City’s year.

“Why wait until next season if there is still a possibility we can win it now?” he said.

I can promise you that we’ll be fighting until the very end

"We all want to make it and though it won’t be easy, we believe we can win the Premier League this season.

“Winning titles is about never giving up and we will never give up. I want to win it this season and then many more with City after that.”
