Yaya Toure says City must deliver in the final two games of the season.

The Blues need six points from their two final games to stand a strong chance of winning the title on goal difference and the inspirational Ivorian says there can be no slip-ups against Aston Villa or West Ham with so much at stake.

“We definitely expect to win it – as a team at the top you always expect to win,” said Yaya.

“We have worked so hard this year and f we don't win, it would be a massive disappointment for us, for the fans and for the club as well.

We need to do the job. The new manager has come in and tried to perfect things, and we have worked hard in training. Now we need to deliver in these two games

Yaya, who laid on Sergio Aguero’s goal at Everton on Saturday to draw the Blues level, thinks the fact both City’s final two games are against sides who are free from the pressure of relegation and European qualification is, in itself, a danger.

Villa ensured Premier League survival with a comfortable win over Hull at the weekend and Yaya expects Paul Lambert’s side to give a good account of themselves as they aim to end the season on a high.

“Both Aston Villa and Wet Ham are sharp and will come to just enjoy the games, but we have a league to play for,” he said.

“I hope we complete the job, but it depends how sharp we are, how we prepare mentally and physically.

“Our target was always to win something, but for us the League Cup is not enough. The Premier League was always our target, so now we need to do be at our optimum levels when Aston Villa come to our stadium on Wednesday.”

Yaya also confirmed he has not picked up an injury at Everton, despite being substituted midway through the second half.

He said: “It was very important I came off. It has been difficult for me in a short space of time to recover from the injury I picked up at Liverpool and prepare physically.

“If you are not fully prepared it is very tough, because you have to be at 100 per cent for these games and coming back is always difficult, especially at the end of the season, but I feel good.”
