City’s FA Cup quarter final with Barnsley is set to be a Saturday night special broadcast live on ESPN.
The tie has been selected for TV and is set to be played at 5.30pm on Saturday 9 March.
City cruised past Leeds 4-0 on Sunday to book their place in the next round, and will face Championship opposition for the third time in the FA Cup this season.
Barnsley, now coached by former City star Garry Flitcroft’s brother David, overcame MK Dons 3-1 in their fifth round match.
The two clubs have met in the FA Cup twice before with City emerging as victors on both occasions, in 1948 and 1993. David White was the hero last time out, grabbing a brace in a 2-0 win.
In all competitions, the Blues have a good record against the Tykes with 15 wins in the 30 previous matches, and ten draws.
City have also enjoyed high-scoring results in the last two meetings, running out 7-1 victors in a League Cup game in 2005 and 5-1 winners in a first division game in 2002.
Blues fans also have fond memories of European football at Oakwell after playing the home leg of a UEFA Cup tie against Faroe Islands part-timers EB Streymur at Barnsley's stadium in 2008.
