It almost like the first cuckoo of Spring but in this instance the first Benjani link of November!

The Zimbabwe international is, wait for it...wait for it...wait for it...supposedly heading back to Portsmouth in January!

Now you have all picked yourselves off the floor with the shock of it all we can reveal that the latest in a long line of stories linking the striker with a return to Fratton Park appears in the Daily Mirror.

‘Portsmouth are keen to recruit Benjani and Gary O’Neil in January now that their cash crisis is starting to ease,” writes Darren Lewis.

Wow!

Meanwhile in the Sun, Janine Self follows up the draw at Birmingham with an interview with Maik Taylor, the Midlanders’ goalkeeper who has hailed Shay Given as the best on the planet.

‘He is not just one of the best in the Premier League but in the world,” Taylor told Janine.

‘Keepers are judged on mistakes and reliability and he rarely makes them but also comes up with a world-class save when needed as well.”

It is not just the players but our owner who is in the news this morning.

Mark Ogden writing in the Telegraph reckons that Sheikh Mansour is gearing up for a first live look at the Blues when we travel out for the friendly against the United Arab Emirates next week.

‘The Sheikh, who has invested almost £300million on new players and improvements to the infrastructure at Eastlands is due to watch an under-strength City line up in a friendly in Abu Dhabi’s Zayed Stadium on Nov 12,’ he informs his readers.

We can also let them know that the Sheikh is an avid viewer of all the Blues games. He regularly requests DVDs so that, between affairs of state, he can catch up on the action that is not shown on television in the Emirate.
