Robinho saga still has legs

The Robinho club versus country row rumbles on, and the Press Corps camped out in Doha are not going to turn their backs on a decent little story that keeps things ticking over.
The Mirror's John Cross writes that Brazil coach Dunga was not happy that City doc Jamie Butler flew out to check on Robi, who is still not ruled out of tomorrow's game with Oman.
At least our Brazil star, still recovering after his stress fracture, was not called in a fit of pique for duty against England, as Matt Barlow notes in his despatch for the Mail.
England had no fewer than four Blues on parade - Gareth Barrry, Joleon Lescott, Wayne Bridge and Shaun Wright-Phillips - which never even happened in Joe Mercer's halcyon days.
Matt also points out: "Mark Hughes will have been relieved to see Robinho do nothing more strenuous than amble around on the touchline in his tracksuit and trainers."
Elsewhere, the Sun reports that Emmanuel Adebayor promised to double his Togo team-mates' match bonus if they beat Gabon. Manu scored the only goal then presumably put his hand in his pocket. Different class.
And the Sun also spotted in the City mag that Noel Gallagher has been overtaken by Ricky Hatton in the Celebrity Top 30 fans. Bizarre's Gordon Smart adds that Noel will be glad to see Liam at only No3. A bit naughty.
