City's defeat against the United Arab Emirates in Abu Dhabi was understandably overshadowed for the travelling Press Corps by Robinho's call-up by Brazil despite his obvious injury problems.
The Independent's Ian Herbert calls it "another controversy" as "Brazil declared they may play him in one or both of the nation's internationals against the club's express wishes".
Like mcfc.co.uk's Chris Bailey last night, he quotes Mark Hughes warning that it would be "foolhardy" to field Robi against England in tomorrow's friendly, but quotes a Brazil spokesman responding: "We don't need permission from City to play him."
The Indy also carries Ian Herbert's full-page, in-depth interview with City CEO Garry Cook, who discusses the "Welcome to Manchester" poster among other topics, including the prospect of Champions League football.
Garry, stressing that there was no malice intended in the poster, tells Ian: "This club has a personality - it's young, it's fresh, irreverent, there's humour." And that's just the website. Only kidding.
Elsewhere, the Mail features top footballers who buck the popular perception with their charitable intentions. They include City striker Craig Bellamy, who pledged £650,000 to his own Foundation "after seeing the devastating effect nine years of civil war had on the people of Sierra Leone".
