Carlos: I won't cry, Argentina

Fun and games in Argentina this week - and it sounds as though Carlos Tevez might have had his fill of the rollercoaster nature of life under eccentric coach Diego Maradona.

Mark Hughes won't be devastated to learn that, according to the Telegraph and the Sun, El Apache reckons that he needs to give serious thought to his international career.

Argentina are going to the World Cup finals next summer of course, but only after scraping through their last two qualifiers in a campaign that has left fans and critics furious.

And Mark Ogden quotes Tevez on his national service in the Telegraph: "I spend more time suffering than enjoying myself. The fans insulted us. Sometimes I think about quitting the national team. Why should I come to Argentina and have a bad time?"

The Sun's Martin Blackburn, steeped in the South American game, has Tevez adding: "I'm tired of all that - nobody bothers me in England." Another one for the Hand of God to sort out?

Joleon Lescott didn't have to go that far to have a bad time. Everton fitted the bill during his last unhappy days at the club before joining city, he tells Matt Lawton in the Daily Mail.

Lescott lifts the lid in eyebrow-raising detail on his rift with Everton boss David Moyes, who made him train alone when it became clear the player preferred to leave the club.
